Demi-Gods

B-School admissions are in progress. Everytime the applicants pass by in college, they give me respectful looks. It feels weird.
Now I know what it must feel like to be in IIM, everywhere you go people treat you like some demi-god. And all you want to scream out to them is; "Its no big deal".

Yes, being in TAPMI is no big deal and yet I know there are at least 100 students out there who would love to switch places with me.

Some of the inquiries I have responded to:

Him: How is TAPMI?
Me: It is good... is there anything specific you want to know about?
Him: The infrastructure is not good
Me: Yep, it is not world-class but it has not inconvenienced us. Anyways, the new campus is coming up
Him: How are placements?
(They probably know more about this than I do.... after all, they must have done their homework)
Me: Damn good.
Him: I am interested in fin... how is that? What kind of profiles can I expect?
Me: I am a core marketing person. I cannot help you with fin. But yes, people are satisfied with the profiles they have.
Him: Is there 100% attendance? I heard 0.1 credit is deducted for every class you miss.
Me: You heard right. If you are looking for only fun and games, this is not the place for you. We have fun, but not at the cost of acads (And that coming from me... hahahhaha)
Him: Is there are a deadline in the hostels?
Me: Yep... 11.30 pm for girls and 12 am for guys
Him: Then how do the pubs get business?
(Screwed up priorities)
Me: I don't think you are coming here for pubbing...
(A little harsh I know... but I didn't know pubs were a criteria for joining a B-School)
Him: I heard that you guys don't get to go home
Me: We do... but once in 6 months. I have not been home in 8 month

The other day some of us discussing why we joined TAPMI.
Person1: I joined because of good placements
Person2: Good brand name
Me: I don't know... I didn't know anything about TAPMI when I joined... It was an impulse decision... one which has worked out wonderfully.
